Prof. Tamas Bartfai
Professor Bartfai is Director of the Harold L. Dorris Neurological Research Center at the Scripps Research Institute of La Jolla, California and holds the Harold L. Dorris Chair of Neuroscience. He also holds the professorial chair of Medicinal Chemistry at the Karolinska Institute.

Prof. Bartfai's more than 27 years of experience in neuroscience include both academic and pharmaceutical settings. Prof. Bartfai was Head of Central Nervous System research at Hoffmann-La Roche and served as Senior Vice President. He has been a consultant to Astra, Sandoz and Roche prior to actually joining Roche. He is a Board Member of a number of US Biotech firms and advises a number of large investment banks on Pharma/Biotech. Much of Prof. Batfai's professional career was spent as a professor at Stockholm University (Karolinska Institute), most recently as the Chairman of the Department of Neurochemistry and Neurotoxicity. His expertise extends into the areas of peptide neurobiology and muscarinic acetylcholine receptors and he has made significant contributions to the understanding of the molecular and biochemical basis of cognition and neuroinflammation.

Prof. Bartfai has published over 150 original papers and 260 publications, and has received various prizes and memberships in Academies across the world.
